Newer Meridianville subdivisions share a pattern with Harvest and the north side of Madison: first-floor hardwood goes in, the stair stays carpet. Painted risers, a skinny oak-look cap, and balusters that read as a catalog kit are what you hold on the way upstairs. We pull the carpet and padding, inspect the framing, and install solid wood treads and risers. Skirt boards get cut to walls that are usually closer to square than an in-town plaster house, but the nosing still has to meet the plank that is actually down. That meeting is the whole job.
Older Meridianville ranch houses are a different stair. Those flights are shorter, often a half-flight off the living room, with worn original wood or leftover carpet and a wall rail. We do not copy a two-story foyer quote onto that opening. If the stringer is sound, a makeover is enough. If the guard is the leftover and the treads already work, the quote can be rail-only. If an addition opened a hole the old flight cannot fill, that is a custom install — less common here than a carpet conversion, and we say so on the estimate.
Meridianville is not Huntsville ZIP 35811 and it is not a Madison infill lot. The drive is the north corridor. Say Meridianville on the form so the stop is scheduled with Toney and Harvest, not folded into a Jones Valley afternoon. There is no public shop address. Josh Templet comes to the house. Licensed and fully insured. Work is virtually dustless because these houses are occupied — kids, pets, and a stair that is the only way to the bedrooms.
Color matching in Meridianville follows builder plank as often as original strip. We sample stain on the actual treads and the adjoining floor under your light. A cooler gray-brown in a north-facing foyer is a different sample than a honey oak in a south window. The handrail gets the same sample when the rail is in the job. Wood balusters keep the stair in millwork language. Matte black metal balusters with that same wood cap are the mixed look a lot of newer two-story Meridianville plans ask for. Metal is infill. The structure you hold is wood. We do not weld a steel stair and call it a makeover.
Open sides on a two-story foyer need a full guard. Closed sides against a wall may only need a handrail. Rise count, species, and what we find under the carpet change the written estimate. We do not publish dollar figures. We measure on site and write the number before a tread is cut. Stair parts are available with or without installation if you are coordinating other trades; most homeowners want the install included.
If a search for custom stairs in Meridianville keeps sending you to a welding shop, that is a different trade. Outdoor steel, decks, and commercial metal packages are not this shop. Interior hardwood — treads, risers, skirts, newels, a wood handrail, and wood or matte black metal balusters — is the quote. Toney is the next name west on this loop. Harvest 35758 is the next name toward Madison. Huntsville is south on the same corridor. Call (256) 665-2161 for a free on-site written estimate.
The estimate visit in Meridianville is the same owner-run stop we use on the rest of the north corridor. Josh counts the rises, checks whether a side is open to the foyer, looks at the floor the nosing has to meet, and writes the scope before a tread is cut. If the leftover builder rail can stay, we say so. If it has to come out with the carpet, that is one visit. See the FAQ if you want the makeover-versus-remodel distinction in writing before we drive out.

Stairs in Meridianville
Meridianville two-story homes on the US-231/431 corridor often still have builder carpet on the stair after the first-floor hardwood is down. Older ranch houses in town usually have a shorter flight that never matched the hall. A makeover is the usual quote when the stringer is sound. Toney and Harvest sit on the same north Madison County loop. We do not fabricate outdoor steel. Call (256) 665-2161.

Interior staircase railings in Meridianville
Meridianville rails fail as leftover builder millwork on the 231/431 corridor. We replace the skinny cap with a wood handrail, square newels, and wood or matte black metal balusters fitted to the stair you walk. Carpeted treads and a new rail can be one visit when the stringer is sound. We do not weld outdoor steel.

Custom staircase installs in Meridianville
Custom stairs in Meridianville are the less common quote — an addition or a builder opening that is wrong for the finished first floor. We install a new interior hardwood run and stain it to the corridor plank. A leftover builder stringer that still works gets a makeover. Outdoor steel is a different trade.
