Staircase remodeling in Huntsville — treads, rails, and the whole run

A remodel is more than new treads. It is the newels, the handrail line, the baluster spacing, and the skirt that makes the stair look like it was always in the house.

North Alabama has plenty of shops that will fabricate metal. We remodel interior stairs as millwork: square wood newels, oak handrails that follow the pitch, and balusters in wood or matte black metal. The rail is part of the stair, not a separate iron job dropped on top of unfinished treads.

Typical remodel scope: replace or recut treads and risers, install or repair skirt boards, set newels plumb, run a continuous handrail, and space balusters to code. Transitions at landings get stained to the adjoining floor so the remodel does not leave a stripe where the old carpet track was.

Curved runs and balcony rails are the same trade. If the existing layout is sound, we remodel in place. If the stair is wrong for the house, that becomes a custom install. If you only need carpet off and hardwood on, start on makeovers.
