Wood or matte black metal balusters go in as part of the same carpentry, color-matched to the adjoining floor — not a separate trade stacked on later.
Older Huntsville houses in Twickenham, Five Points, and Blossomwood often still have carpeted stairs or original oak that has gone gray at the nosing. Jones Valley, Hampton Cove, and Monte Sano homes usually need treads that match newer plank, plus a rail system that belongs with the rest of the millwork. We quote both.
